Testing is administered quarterly in the school and registered in the National Sun Do Kwan Association, the Chung Do Kwan School and the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF) in Seoul.   There are twelve Gup levels between white and black representing a total of three and one half years of continuous training coming at a minimum of twice a week.  All testing is done at the school.  Parents and spouses are invited as guests to watch the testing.  Every student must know 1) the techniques for their belt level, 2) their form as well as previous forms, 3) the self defense techniques for their level, 4) sparring both pre-arranged and free sparring and 5) they must break boards with techniques at their level.  No one tests unless they are ready and have at least 20 classes at their belt level.
