Comparison with Other Sports Tae Kwon Do as all martial arts is taught under the master system. Instructors must have a minimum of eight years of preparation to teach before they can begin to instruct others. This equates to many hours of work in the classroom and within the particular school system. This long period of preparation equates to a safer environment for students to train. As a comparison the following chart indicates the minimum times required for a coach or instructor to teach other sports.
