Forms Young Key Basic TG1 TG2 TG3 TG4 TG5 TG6 TG7 TG8

The forms or (Poomse) are patterns of movements chained together against four or more imaginary opponents.  All students are required to know the form or pattern for their belt or Gup level.  The forms done by the school are the Tae Guek or Pal Gwe series forms approved by the WTF. Presently the school is doing the Tae Guek series forms.  These patterns are approximately 20 steps long and march out the eight trigram patterns on the floor.  The forms begin with simple movements and progress to more difficult and complex movements as each new pattern is learned.  Red belts or first Gup students are required to know all eight patterns and perform them on demand.

The younger students 5,6 of age learn Power form patterns that are 6 steps long.  There are three of these patterns “Power”, “Confidence” and “Patience”.  Learning these patterns amounts to 18 steps in total and prepares them to later learn the longer forms.

The practice of forms stress: Focus, Beauty, Timing, Rhythm, Power and Technique along with teaching basic fighting skills.
